In our 43rd episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll look at the madness of the COVID lockdowns around the world. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a form of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at some real COVID madness.
The following information comes from a recent report on abuses during the COVID lockdowns produced by Amnesty International.
The nation of Zambia seems to be taking a strict approach to the lockdowns. A police official recently told a journalist, “We hammer you, we hit you, then we do detention. If you escape, you are lucky.” In Zimbabwe, three female COVID protesters were abducted, raped, and tortured. When released, they filed a complaint about their treatment, then were rearrested for making false statements.
In Russia, a doctor was arrested for violating travel restrictions while attempting to distribute personal protective equipment. She was reportedly choked and hit in the abdomen, and passed out. When she mentioned the incident after release, she was violently dragged back into the police station.
There is video evidence of police enforcing lockdown rules by attacking people with clubs in places as disparate as India and Sierra Leone. In Nigeria, in the first days of curfew, several people were killed, as was the case in South Africa; breaking curfew resulted in 18 deaths. In Kenya, seven people were killed and 18 hospitalized in the first five days of the lockdown. It seems throughout Africa; mistakes are punished?
In El Salvador, a young man described how a police officer detained and beat him and shot him twice in the legs. His crime? He was caught going to buy food and fuel, allegedly in violation of a national quarantine. In Australia, there is ample video evidence on YouTube of the police violently arresting people for not wearing a mask. In one disturbing incident, they entered the home of a young pregnant lady returning from her Doctor’s visit. The police removed her while her husband and small child stood helplessly by.
Across Europe, there were several cases in Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain. Law enforcement officials resorted to the unlawful use of force to impose lockdown measures on people who offered no resistance and constituted no significant threat. Amnesty International’s Citizen Evidence Lab verified 34 videos showing police using force unlawfully in the context of lockdown enforcement, including police in Spain beating and pinning down a young man and his mother.
Now you might say, ‘well, they broke the rules’. What if you criticize the rules or don’t support the narrative of the great pandemic? In Turkey, numerous arrests were made for speaking out against the narrative, and in Venezuela, 12 health care workers were brought before tribunals for speaking out. In Kazakhstan, 81 people have been charged for speaking ill of the pandemic.
How about closer to home? A prominent California doctor questioned his county’s coronavirus stay-at-home orders. Dr. Michael Deboisblanc, a trauma medical director for John Muir Health, says he was fired after writing to health officials in Contra Costa County, California. An expert one day and out the next.
In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, a man was standing outside chatting with a co-worker sipping coffee and received a $300 fine for not wearing a mask. When you dig a little deeper, Manitoba has issued COVID fines of $683,000 since the plandemic started. Free speech doesn’t appear as ‘free’ as it was in 2019.
A good time to ask, “Do you see any hints here as to our future”? Check out a little history, and you’ll see Nazi Germany began by saying you couldn’t shop at Jewish stores. Then they didn’t allow Jews to work. Then they couldn’t own property. And then, well, you know the rest of the story. Think we’re different?
